We spotlight Mark Trulson and his band students at Alhambra High School. Last month a week before the mask mandate was lifted, Mark talked to us about the past two years of teaching band under COVID-19. During the pandemic, his students started with online Zoom classes which proved difficult for making music.

A year and half later in fall 2021, they finally returned to in-person learning by wearing special band masks and using bell covers on their wind instruments to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Mark says following these protocols allowed his students to reunite and make music together in person.
